ElSid x the territory loop to good old red bay coffee 🔁
This week we are ditching the traditional out-and-back script for a brand-new concept. The rules are simple: the bigger the loop we run, the more territory we own. We are mapping out a tactical city route to claim our turf. We are heading back to our absolute favorite go-to spot - it's time to bring back the good old Red Bay days with their legendary charcoal lattes, premium espresso, and high-quality pastries while we hold down the post-run huddle by the docks. ☕️🥐
ElSid x Juneteenth @ Plow
This Friday is Juneteenth, and since some of the crew has the day off while others are still on the clock, we’re making the holiday run flexible for everyone. We are heading to Potrero Hill to hit one of the most iconic breakfast spots in the city: Plow. 🏖️ If you have the day off: Put your name on the list with us for a proper holiday brekkie huddle over Plow’s legendary lemon ricotta pancakes and crispy potatoes. 💻 If you still have to work: Do not skip! Pull up for the morning miles and stay for a quick post-run coffee huddle before you have to dash off to your laptop. ☕️🏃♂️
ElSid x Breadbelly B12
This week we are mapping out a solid 5-mile based on an elite recommendation from our member, James. We are heading down the southern waterfront to hit Breadbelly B12 at historic Pier 70. THE REWARD: Breadbelly is where Asian-American flavors meet California comfort. We’re finishing inside their expansive, airy industrial kitchen program for fresh milk bread, signature kaya buns, and premium coffees. RSVP to show us your love, browse the community grid at elsidrunclub.com, and let's conquer these 5 miles together! 🏹🥐
ElSid x yummy bakery @chinatown ✨
The votes are officially in, and this week we are heading deep into Chinatown to hit a super underrated, authentic local treasure: Yummy Bakery. THE ROUTE: We’re starting at our usual home base at the Bow & Arrow (Rincon Park). Based on your distance preference, we’ve mapped out a classic urban stretch that weaves through the city grid, scales a few scenic blocks, and drops us right into the heart of Chinatown. 🏙️☁️ THE REWARD: Yummy Bakery is a low-key spot for incredible Chinese baked goods. Think fresh egg tarts, pineapple buns, and classic savory pastries that are the absolute perfect after a Friday morning run.
ElSid x heyma yemeni coffee ✨
From our usual spot at Cupid's bow, we will head south around Oracle park and then alongside the Mission channel. A couple roundabouts through the design district later, we will come upon a lovely Yemeni cafe called Heyma known for its spiced lattes and pastries. - Layne
ElSid x friday morning at kopiku ✨ 🇮🇩☕
We’re trading the waterfront flats for some certified SF grit and glory this week. We’re running ~3 miles through the heart of the city, including a legendary dash through the Stockton Tunnel. THE ROUTE: Starting at the Bow & Arrow, we’re hitting the Ferry Building before heading toward Union Square. From there, we’re taking the “side quest” through the Stockton Street Tunnel and tackling the California Street hill climb. THE REWARD: We’re finishing at Kopiku Indonesian Coffee. Known for their specialty Indonesian flavors, it’s the perfect spot to refuel. Try the Pandan Latte or the Gula Melaka for something you can't find anywhere else. ☕️🇮🇩 THE VIBE: ElSid is a “fun run” club - no gatekeeping, no pace-shaming. We run at the speed of gossip and finish with the best coffee in SF. Check the photos - you belong here. 🤝✨
ElSid x Devil's Teeth 🥪
Join us for (arguably) the best breakfast sandwich in SF. Only 100 feet of gain. See you Friday!
ElSid - friday morning at juniper ✨
This week we’re hitting the waterfront for a scenic 3.6-mile mission to Juniper on Polk Street. The Route: We’re starting at the Bow & Arrow and taking the Embarcadero all the way to PIER 39. It’s a flat, social stretch perfect for warming up and catching up on the week's gossip. From there, we’ll pivot through the edge of Fisherman's Wharf and take Polk Street straight to the bakery. ☁️🏙️ The Reward: Juniper is owned by the same visionary behind Saint Frank Coffee. They are famous for their award-winning croissants and creative pastries. The Return: Hop on the 19 Polk or the 1 California bus for a quick trip back toward the start or your next Friday stop. See you at the sculpture! 🏹🥐
ElSid x friday morning at jane’s ✨
The Friday Ritual: Jane Edition. 🥖✨ This week we’re taking the "high road" to Jane The Bakery. We’re talking 3 miles of main character views, zero gatekeeping, and the best sourdough in SF. The Lore: 📍 Meet at the Bow & Arrow (Rincon Park) ⏰ 7:00 AM sharpish 🧗♀️ Scenic Bush St climb (skipping the hill chaos this week) 🥯 10/10 reward at the finish ElSid is a "fun run" club - we run at the speed of gossip. No one gets left behind. Check the link in bio to join the Strava club and RSVP. 🏹🥐 The "Get Home" Plan: Since this is a one-way side quest, most of us will hop on the 38 Geary bus right outside the bakery for a 30-min straight shot back to the waterfront. Or, if you’re in your marathon training era, feel free to log the return miles! See you at the sculpture! 🏹🥐
ElSid Friday: The Coit Tower Hill Challenge 🗼🥐
This week, we’re adding some elevation! We’ll start at our usual spot at the Bow and Arrow and head toward the clouds. We’re climbing the steps to Pioneer Park (Coit Tower) for the best views in SF before descending into North Beach for a legendary reward at Stella Pastry. Remember: we go at a social pace, and we wait for everyone at the top of the hills!
New here?
Before your first run.
No experience needed. Here's everything you need to know to show up feeling ready.
Drink water in the morning
Have a full glass of water as soon as you wake up — before coffee, before anything. SF mornings are drier than they feel and you'll thank yourself at mile 2.
Comfortable shoes are all you need
No need for fancy gear. Any athletic shoes with cushioning work perfectly. If you decide to make running a habit, a local running store can fit you properly.
Layer up — SF mornings are cold
Even in summer, Rincon Park at 7AM is chilly and often foggy. Wear a light jacket or long sleeves you can tie around your waist once you warm up.
All paces — we really mean it
No one gets left behind. We regroup at corners, cheer each other on, and finish together. Your only job is to show up.
Just show up
The hardest part is walking out the door at 6:45AM. Once you're at Rincon Park, the energy takes over. We'll handle the rest.
Come ready to make friends
Most people who join for the run stay for the community. ElSid is built on real connections — expect to leave with a new favorite Friday crew.
